Founded in 1910, and a ministry of the United Church of Canada since 1957, Montreal City Mission (MCM) has been serving the downtown core of Montreal for almost a century. The last twenty years have been marked by cutting edge work, empowering ourselves and others to develop innovative responses to the challenges of poverty and social exclusion. Partnerships with the ecumenical community, grass roots groups, government, corporations and academia allow Montreal City Mission to draw on all dynamic sectors of society in its quest to create an inclusive, caring community. In 2002, MCM adopted the following mission statement:
