Dear  friend,

There is no doubt that Canada’s most marginalized communities are suffering.  Each year it seems the statistics are getting worse…more and more skilled immigrant workers are unable to find lucrative employment, refugees struggle to find housing and jobs because of racial prejudices, and people on low income in general have difficulty accessing public services.  Tragically, those hit the hardest are the children whose families are in these social demographics.

At Montreal City Mission, we are actively working to help Montreal’s most vulnerable citizens access services and  find housing and work. Most importantly, perhaps, is the community we are creating where people can rediscover a sense of belonging and dignity in a world that often leaves them on the sidelines.  Through our programs such as: Projet Refuge, a transition residence for newly arrived refugee claimants that helps asylum seekers integrate into Canadian society; Just Solutions, a legal information clinic that helps people access information on government services, housing, employment and pensions and Camp Cosmos, our day camp for children from families on low-income, Montreal City Mission is the helping hand that makes all the difference.

We are proud of our history - nearly 100 years of empowering refugees, immigrants, Montrealers living in poverty and many many more.  We are a place where those who are wounded reconnect with their dreams, inspiration and self-worth.  If our work is to continue, however, we need the support of the wider community.  As needs increase, we are relying on you, our donors, present and future, to both support and promote Montreal City Mission.  We need you to tell everyone you know about the valuable work that is happening at Montreal City Mission and encourage them to become a member of our donor family and wider community.

We hope that we can count on your support this year!

Yours in peace,
