Montreal City Mission shares the concerns and struggles of a wide group of individuals through advocating on their issues. We do this through our connections and collaboration with a variety of church and community networks addressing social and economic exclusion.
- Church Networks
Montreal City Mission is active on a number of United Church working groups to promote outreach ministry and develop new resources and vision for its fulfillment. MCM currently participates on the Montreal Presbytery Mission Outreach. MCM is also invovled in the Ecumenical Peace and Justice Network.
- Community Networks
In addition to supporting the work of ‘Front d'action populaiare en réaménagement urbain' and the ‘Réseau d'aide aux personnes seules et itinérantes', MCM is actively involved in the ‘Table de concertation au service des refugiés', in particular through participation in its Protection Committee.
- Presentations/Visits
MCM also seeks opportunities to speak about its work and the people served through outreach visits and presentations to churches, grassroots groups and academia and by hosting church and community groups at MCM. We hope this contact with the wider community will serve to create greater acceptance and understanding amongst people.
